Poster Presentation Guidelines – CIES 2018
MEXICO CITY (MARCH 25-29, 2018)

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Poster sessions at CIES 2018 will combine the graphic display of materials with the opportunity for individualized discussion of the presenter’s work throughout a 90-minute session. This year, poster presenters will set up displays on large rolling billboards with other presenters. Poster sessions will take place in their own spacious conference room which will allow each poster session round-tables where audience may sit and discuss the studies with the poster presenters; presenters may also provide brief handouts. Poster presenters may leave their posters up for viewing until the next poster session for others using the room for book launches and other activities to see the posters.

Set-up

We ask that you set up your display at least 15 minutes before the session is to begin. The program will indicate the poster board number to which you have been assigned. The presenting author should be present for the duration of the 90-minute session in order to speak with attendees and answer questions. Posters will be pinned up on rolling cork boards which are 4 feet in height and 8 feet wide. Each board will hold 2 posters.

Poster Specifications

The poster board surface is made of cork and each poster will have one half of a 4′ high x 8′ wide board (in other words, you will have access to roughly 4′ x 4′ for your poster). Presenters may choose to display their poster vertically or horizontally. Please bring pushpins to fasten your poster to the board. We recommend that the paper title and authors’ names and affiliations appear at the top of your poster. Remember that your poster will be viewed from a distance of several feet, so font sizes should be large enough to easily read and figures and tables should be kept as simple as possible. We also invite you as poster session presenters to have copies of your papers or summary handouts to distribute to interested parties, as poster sessions are a great way to network.
